A weaver, a storyteller, an artist: I tell stories of my culture and the people who are part of my make-up. I am a medium for their voices and keeping dreams alive. My artwork is a combination of research, intuition, and vision. My influences span from Africa, The Middle Passage, Slavery, to my childhood; some are familiar and others, intuitive kin.

I burn and stitch images and text into cloth to invoke voices of the past. Using re-memory I provide access for spirits to speak. My intent is to tell a different story of American culture. As I share and live these stories I also explore my own pain, wishes, and dreams for the future.
